"Parks and Recreation" Shoot
|
| |
|
Had a great time shooting the role of "Deb" on the season finale of "Parks and Recreation." I play a townsperson asking a question in the very first few minutes of the show. Great fun improv-ing a bit with Amy Poehler, on a very professional and fun set. Check back here for the air date! |

"Real Time" Spoofs "Head On" ads!
|
| |
|
On 11/17, HBO's "Real Time with Bill Maher" opens the show with a sketch that parodies those horrifically annoying (but brilliantly marketed) ads for "Head On" ("Apply Directly to Forehead" repeated ad infinitum). I'm happy to say the gang at Real Time included me in this fairly outrageous sketch. |

Sketch for "Real Time with Bill Maher!"
|
| |
We taped a new sketch for "Real Time with Bill Maher" which is aired on the final show of last season on HBO. So much fun to shoot -- Scott Carter and the whole crew were great to work with.

"Real Time with Bill Maher"
|
| |
Producer Scott Carter cast me as a home shopping network hostess with Bill Maher, in a comedy sketch for his show "Real Time with Bill Maher." It was a blast to shoot -- it was a fake ad for a protective "club" for feeding tubes, So edgy, HBO wouldn't even air it!!
But at least the check cleared. |

"Power in the Blood" at Alliance Rep in Burbank...
|
| |
The play "Power in the Blood" at The Alliance Rep Theatre Co was a fun show, with an extended run that closed Sept 17. It's a drama set in the deep South about a young boy who has the stigmata, and how people in his life exploit him. Or do they...? I played the boy's boozed-up, oversexed sister. FUN!
Thanks to all who came to see the show!
~~ As Sister, the angular Deb Hiett is a house-rattling find. -- LOS ANGELES TIMES 8/5/05 This production is strong in performances, particularly supporting player Deb Hiett as Ezekiel's barfly half-sister.... -- LA WEEKLY 8/4/05 The sister is an over-sexed alcoholic (a strong performance by Deb Hiett) who torments her brother by saying he’s a freak and no more than a religious hysteric. -- TOLUCAN TIMES 8/4/05 ~~ |

Check out some of the reviews for "Fractured Fairy Tales from the East" at NoHo Arts Center (1/8/05 - 2/6/05):

"Deb Hiett excels in her comedic characters--particularly as a deer with an attitude..." -- Backstage West, 1/13/05
"Hiett really stands out with her constant accent changes and well-executed mannerisms." -- Valley Scene Magazine, 2/4/05
“This accomplished comedic actor is often responsible for the height of onstage hilarity.” --Backstage West, 1/20/05
Thanks to all who came to see our show -- it was great fun! |

AT&T Commercial with Luke Wilson
|
| |
|
Look for me (don't blink) in the AT&T commercial where Luke Wilson stands in the middle of the field, surrounded by people holding up their cell phones. That's me, standing just behind the person behind his right shoulder! The camera pulls waaaaaay back to reveal the entire country, lit up by AT&T phones. But I'm in there! |
