The Stages Festival for New Musicals!

I'll be playing DeeDee Dupree in "Ghost-s: The Musical" on Sat July 16, 4:30 PM and Sun July 17, 1:30 PM, at the STAGES Festival of New Musicals. Performances take place at The Academy for New Musical Theatre, 5628 Vineland Avenue in North Hollywood. Here's the synopsis:

"To save their small town from bankruptcy, a community theatre group sets out to produce a new musical based on the hit romantic thriller Ghost, but mistakenly acquires the rights to a dreadful musical adaptation of Ibsen's Ghosts, a dark Norwegian drama about incest, VD, and assisted suicide.

Ghost-s is a delightful musical-within-a-musical about the fight to save this eclectic Northern California community of artists, drop-outs and pot growers, led by an ex-Hollywood executive, haunted by a secret from her past."

The community happens to be fighting my character, and it's fun to play a villain! Hope to see you there.

"The Lutefisk Wars" Featured in Multiple Film Festivals!

In addition to winning the "Prairie Spirit" Award in the 2011 Fargo Film Festival, "The Lutefisk Wars" is also an Official Selection of the Sonoma International Film Festival (April 6-10) and the 30th Minneapolis-St. Paul International Film Festival (April 14-May 5th).

"The Lutefisk Wars" is the hilarious mockumentary about the Norwegian mafia, where I play Gail Ramstad, an extremely sexy farmer who gets unknowingly pulled into an international scandal when her fiance, Karl, is mistaken-- oh, I don't want to ruin it for you.

More info here about screening dates when I get 'em, ya betcha!

Deb in the "Parks and Recreation" Season Finale!

Be sure to watch the VERY BEGINNING of the season finale of "Parks and Recreation" on Thursday, May 20, at 8:30 on NBC (check local listings for time).

The episode is called "Freddy Spaghetti" and I'm a townsperson who asks Amy Poehler's character about a park-sponsored Freddy Spaghetti concert.

"A Bit of Counseling" voted "Most Popular Film" in Australia's Over the Fence Film Festival!

I'm super chuffed (that's a good thing) to announce that "A Bit of Counseling," the short comedy film I co-wrote and directed with Richard Kuhlman, just won its fourth prize: "Most Popular Film" at the Over the Fence Film Festival in Australia! Thanks to Festival Co-Directors Deanna Whyte and Greg Coffey, and everyone in Oz who voted for our little laffer!

Over the Fence Film Festival opened in Perth in 2009, then toured the country with their film selections. For info on their next festival, check them out at Over the Fence Film Festival.
