Performing in Moving Arts Theater Company Holiday Fundraiser!

Come support local theater and see me perform a ten-minute two-hander with the talented Mark Taylor at the Moving Arts Holiday Party/Fundraiser on December 15. We’ll be performing “Yuletime” by Lee Wochner, a moving short piece about a couple finding their way through tragedy during the holiday.

Every year Moving Arts has a holiday fundraising event at the home of one of their Board members. There will be food, drink, auction items, and site-specific plays. Moving Arts will be showing its unique form of storytelling by presenting five plays in different areas around a very nicely appointed house, nestled in the Hollywood Hills.

It all starts at 6:00 p.m. on Sat, Dec 15. Tickets are $50 and can be purchased here. Hope to see you there!

Interviewed in Dramatists Guild Magazine

My play "The Super Variety Match Bonus Round!" was part of Rogue Machine Theatre's 2016-2017 season which received the Ovation award for "Best Season." I was excited to be interviewed about it for Dramatists Guild's "Season in Review" magazine edition, which is available now.  Big thanks to Larry Dean Harris for reaching out to me for the article, as well as my director Cameron Watson, and Rogue Machine's Artistic Director John Perrin Flynn for believing in my play.

"Chain Link" Featured in NYC's Nylon Fusion Theatre Company Festival

Nylon Fusion Theatre Company has selected my short play "Chain Link" for their "Best Of 'This Round's On Us' Festival" opening June 27 - July 15 in New York City. I'm honored and excited! It will be directed by the amazing Lori Kee.

The theatre has hosted their short play collection "This Round's On Us" for ten years, and have now selected twelve plays to run in two groups, on alternating dates. SO PLEASE COME SEE (AND VOTE FOR) "CHAIN LINK!"

WEEK ONE:
Wednesday June 27th at 8PM
Friday June 29th at 8PM

"The Escape Thingy" is a Semifinalist for The Garry Marshall Theatre New Works Festival!

In its very first year, The Garry Marshall Theatre New Works Festival selected my new play "The Escape Thingy" as one of the Semifinalists!

In this 5-person comedy, two very different couples meet in an "Escape Room" game night, each needing very different types of escape. The clock is literally ticking as they attempt to solve the puzzles, distinguish facts from alternative facts, and weigh the risks of unlocking the door to the dangerous world outside.

This new play, written as part of the Playwrights Union New Play Challenge 2017, was a Finalist for the 2018-2019 Reva Shiner Comedy Award, and is also a Semifinalist for the 2018 Ashland New Play Festival and the 2018 Bay Area Playwrights Festival.

Reviews for "Miss Keller Has No Second Book" at Gulfshore Playhouse (March 31 - April 15, 2018)

The opening of the World Premiere of "Miss Keller Has No Second Book" at Gulfshore Playhouse in Naples, FL was wonderful. The design team created a magical world full of haunting original music and breathtaking sets, lights, and costumes. The crew -- both backstage and front of house -- were as professional as they were fun to hang out with. And the entire cast (Amy Van Nostrand, Maureen Silliman, Alex Grubbs, James Lloyd Reynolds, and Hannah Mae Sturges), led by director Emilie Beck, was outstanding.

All that was just my "review," simply as the person who wrote the thing. Here's what Florida Weekly had to say: “'Miss Keller Has No Second Book' is one of those rare things in theater: a new play that works on all levels, has a superlative cast and grabs your heart and won’t let go." BroadwayWorld says our show "is most definitely a premiere you will not want to miss." Naples Daily News says "riveting as well as enlightening."

I couldn't be more proud of this show. This production runs until April 15. Tickets and more info available here
