So pleased that a monologue I’ve written will appear in The Best Women’s Stage Monologues 2022, due out in December, from Smith & Kraus.
The monologue is one from my newest play, “Circle Forward,” which was written in 2021 and featured in the Playwrights Union “First Peek” Reading Series in June 2021. The play was also developed in the Antaeus Theatre Playwrights Lab. I’m so proud to be included in this collection!
I’m so excited to be acting in “Lions” (by Jihan Crowther) at Boston Court Pasadena on Saturday Sept 18 starting at 10 am PDT. It’s FREE, and virtual, so you can watch it from the comfort of your own pajamas if you want! Register HERE for the free link.
Here’s the synopsis: At a possibly haunted party, Wallis, the world’s worst hostess, attempts to entertain her guests—one of whom is hellbent on commandeering her home before the night is over. When unexpected secrets surface, the party takes a startling turn. Soon everyone is forced to choose sides as the chaos inside begins to reflect the turmoil brewing outside.
And I get to play Wallis! It’s a very intense and engrossing new piece, and I’m honored to be a part of it. Don’t miss this new play by my brilliant friend (who also happens to have been a writer on “The Underground Railroad” and “The Man in the High Castle”). Please support this wonderful theater, and join us.
As part of the “First Peek” Series of new play readings by members of the Playwrights Union, my play “Circle Forward” will have its very first public reading (virtually on Zoom) on Saturday June 12 at 3:30 PDT (US). Tickets are FREE — just RSVP/register HERE and you’ll be sent the Zoom link just before the reading.
“Circle Forward” synopsis: When a 15 year old boy claims to be the reincarnation of a writer's late husband, she must come to terms with her version of the past. The reading will run about 1 hour 15 minutes, with a short talkback afterwards for those that wish to stay a few minutes and ask questions or offer constructive feedback.
The “First Peek” series is for brand new plays, all works in progress, so know that you’re seeing and hearing an early draft, and your presence and feedback really matters!
Here’s my amazing cast: Meeghan Holaway, Catia Ojeda, Max Torina, and Caitlin Crawley.
RSVP for this free reading today! You can watch in your pajamas! (And check out the other four plays in this year’s “First Peek” series — all wonderful, all different!)

And if you can’t make it, please join the 40,000 others who have taken a few moments to listen HERE to the radio play — it’s also FREE! Here’s a synopsis: Fresh from participating in her first street protests, 80-year old Eleanor Pender McAdams seems an unlikely subject for an FBI investigation — but who really has the upper hand? This “official file” of recordings and interviews reveals the complexities of standing up for something bigger than yourself in the modern world.
Here’s a silly romp with Punch & Judy — “Perfectly Awful” is a song written by the brilliant Brian Woodbury as part of his “Levity & Novelty” CD available here. We had a blast shooting this video, hope you enjoy it!
Sad to hear about the closing of a legendary Los Angeles nightclub/venue called Rockwell Table & Stage. I had the privilege of performing here a few years ago as part of their series “A Little New Music” which showcased songs from brand new musicals.
I got to sing “People Person” which was written by Brian Woodbury for his musical “Ghost-s: The Musical” in which I play an evil real estate developer. Take a few minutes to watch the video:
As soon as it’s safe to do so, please support your local music and theater establishments. They’re gonna need all the help they can get. And seeing live performance is good for the soul!!
UPDATE: OVER 20,000 have listened to the podcasts so far, in over 5 continents!
The Los Angeles Times called the series “Delightful… exceptional… quick and fun and surprising!”
Featured in LAist’s “Best Online Post-Election Diversions!”
Commissioned by Antaeus Theatre Company in August and recorded remotely in September, the 30-minute radio play “90024: Westwood — All Information Herein is Classified” is now available for streaming at Antaeus.org or wherever you get your podcasts.
Directed by Carolyn Ratteray and starring Dawn Didawick, Bo Foxworth, and Catia Ojeda, the play is collection of digital audio FBI files on Eleanor Pender McPherson, an alleged participant in protests in and around UCLA. The two FBI agents assigned to her surveillance learn never to underestimate an 80 year old woman.
I’m so grateful to Antaeus for selecting me to create this piece, to Jeff Gardner for mastering the audio production, and to the director and cast for bringing it to life. I hope you all take a few minutes to listen, and enjoy!
