Narrating Documentary Now's Season Premiere "Soldier of Illusion" October 19!

I’ve been lucky enough to be in all four seasons of “Documentary Now,” the amazing anthology series produced by Seth Meyers, Bill Hader, and Fred Armisen, and directed by Alex Buono and Rhys Thomas. Each episode parodies a different documentary.

On October 19, their newest season will premiere with their two-episode take on “Burden of Dreams,” the documentary about director Werner Herzog making “Fitzcarraldo.” The hilarious new spoof is called “Soldier of Illusion,” stars Alexander Skarsgard, Nicholas Braun, and Fred Armisen, and was written by John Mulaney.

If you’ve seen “Burden of Dreams” you’ll have heard a very distinctive female narrator, Candace Laughlin. If you watch “Soldier of Illusion,” you’ll hear my narration take on her brilliant delivery.

Check out IFC and AMC+ starting October 19 for the newest installments of the always amazing “Documentary Now!” Here’s the trailer for the season (which will also include Cate Blanchett and a wild take on “My Octopus Teacher”!):

Virtual Reading of Jihan Crowther's New Play "LIONS" at Boston Court Pasadena Theatre!

I’m so excited to be acting in “Lions” (by Jihan Crowther) at Boston Court Pasadena on Saturday Sept 18 starting at 10 am PDT. It’s FREE, and virtual, so you can watch it from the comfort of your own pajamas if you want! Register HERE for the free link.

Here’s the synopsis: At a possibly haunted party, Wallis, the world’s worst hostess, attempts to entertain her guests—one of whom is hellbent on commandeering her home before the night is over. When unexpected secrets surface, the party takes a startling turn. Soon everyone is forced to choose sides as the chaos inside begins to reflect the turmoil brewing outside.

And I get to play Wallis! It’s a very intense and engrossing new piece, and I’m honored to be a part of it. Don’t miss this new play by my brilliant friend (who also happens to have been a writer on “The Underground Railroad” and “The Man in the High Castle”). Please support this wonderful theater, and join us.
