"Circle Forward" a Semi-Finalist for 2023-2024 Princess Grace Award

Although it was not selected for the award/fellowship, I’m very proud to have written one of the few plays selected as Semi-Finalists for the 2023-2024 Princess Grace Award in Playwriting/Fellowship at New Dramatists. With the subjective nature of the selection process of these organizations, it means a lot to me to have the play get to this level of competition, and every acknowledgment is appreciated and taken as great encouragement!

I continue to develop (and hopefully improve) this play which was originally written as part of the Playwrights Union “February New Play Challenge,” was selected for Antaeus Theatre’s Lab Results Reading Series, and which will be workshopped at Gulfshore Playhouse’s New Works Festival in September 2023.

Synopsis for “Circle Forward": Seventeen years after the loss of her young husband from cancer, Mia meets a teenager, Ethan, who believes he is the reincarnation of her late husband. When Ethan and his mom Lexi come to Mia's house for lunch, Mia must face her doubts, her past, and the whole truth.

A big thank you to the Princess Grace Foundation and New Dramatists for this recognition. Onwards!!

WINNER! Atlanta Comedy Film Festival 2020

So thrilled that our short comedy film “Gratitude Jar Time Capsule” won “Best Comedy Television Pilot” at the 2020 Atlanta Comedy Film Festival!

The festival was chock-full of wonderful and original films, all so entertaining and impressive. My co-creator Stephanie Erb and I were really thrilled to even be nominated, honestly. But to win was such an honor and a thrill! Thanks to everyone involved in making the festival happen during this challenging year, when we need to laugh more than ever.

In "Bombshell" -- In Theaters Now!

Go see “Bombshell!” I’ve got a scene with Charlize Theron in the hit movie, which is in movie theaters now.

When Gretchen Carlson (Nicole Kidman) slaps Fox News founder Roger Ailes (John Lithgow) with a lawsuit alleging sexual harassment, not a soul could predict what would happen next. Her decision leads to Fox News correspondent Megyn Kelly (Charlize Theron) coming forward with her own story, as well as multiple other women, inciting a movement that reverberates around the world.

Such a fun shoot, with amazing, talented, generous folks. I am so proud to be a small part of this great cast, which is nominated for “Outstanding Performance by a Cast” SAG-AFTRA Award!

Finalist for The 2019 Reva Shiner Comedy Award!

So thrilled and proud that my new play “The Clearing in the Jacoby” is a Finalist for The 2019-2020 Reva Shiner Comedy Award!

In this play, set in an ancient Australian forest famous for being an international destination for committing suicide, five very different people find themselves in need of answers, each other, and a government employee named Sharon.

The Bloomington Playwrights Project (BPP) is the only professional theatre in the entire state of Indiana dedicated solely to new plays. They select ten finalists and produce the winner’s play. I’m so lucky to have been a Finalist for this award three different times now.

Thanks to everyone at The Bloomington Playwrights Project for choosing my play as one of the ten funniest of 2019!

Interviewed in Dramatists Guild Magazine

My play "The Super Variety Match Bonus Round!" was part of Rogue Machine Theatre's 2016-2017 season which received the Ovation award for "Best Season." I was excited to be interviewed about it for Dramatists Guild's "Season in Review" magazine edition, which is available now.  Big thanks to Larry Dean Harris for reaching out to me for the article, as well as my director Cameron Watson, and Rogue Machine's Artistic Director John Perrin Flynn for believing in my play.

New Play "The Escape Thingy" Finalist for 2018-2019 Reva Shiner Comedy Award

So proud that my play "The Escape Thingy" is a Finalist for the 2018-2019 Reva Shiner Comedy Award! Ten finalists were selected from over 1,000 submissions by Bloomington Playwrights Project. What a wonderful honor.

In this 5-person comedy, two very different couples meet in an "Escape Room" game night, each needing very different types of escape. The clock is literally ticking as they attempt to solve the puzzles, distinguish facts from alternative facts, and weigh the risks of unlocking the door to the dangerous world outside.

This new play, written as part of the Playwrights Union New Play Challenge 2017, is also a Semifinalist for the 2018 Ashland New Play Festival and the 2018 Bay Area Playwrights Festival.
