READING: "This Is Crazy" at South Dakota State University in 2026

So excited to bundle up and be a part of the “Festival of New Plays” at South Dakota State University, February 19-22, 2026! I’ll be workshopping my play “This Is Crazy!”

Each night of the Festival, there will be a different staged reading of a new play, followed by a discussion with the playwright. I’m honored to be joined by Aly Kantor (“The Care and Feeding of Restless Souls”) and Chelsea Sutton ( “I’ll Be Your Villain”). The festival concludes with short plays written, rehearsed and produced by students over the course of one day.

I’ve always had such a great experience working with the talented students, faculty and staff at SDSU, and look forward to this next trip. Ticketing and more info here.

NYC Reading: "This Is Crazy"

I had a wonderful reading of the latest draft of “This Is Crazy” while in New York City casting the World Premiere production of “Circle Forward.” HUGE thanks to Dominic, Helen, Eilis, Jason, and Brooke as they jumped into this new comedy! And I’m grateful for the lovely rehearsal rooms at Spaces@520 for the air-conditioned, peaceful facilities.

Readings like these are SO helpful as I continue to refine and deepen this play. I’m grateful to these talented actors, and our friends who showed up to hear it and support new work!

"This Is Crazy" Finalist at Utah Shakespeare's "Words Cubed" 2025

So proud to announce that my newest comedy “This Is Crazy” is a Finalist for the Utah Shakespeare Festival’s “Words Cubed” 2025 new play development program.

Development opportunities at wonderful theaters like these are becoming more and more rare, and I know competition is fierce. Although my play was not selected, being a finalist is a big win. I look forward to continuing to work on this play at a reading while in New York next month!

Here’s the synopsis for “This Is Crazy:”

Sometimes life throws you a curveball, or, in Laila and Jackson's case, a giant, pointy, mysterious (and possibly intergalactic) Thing. Will they be able to hold on to their understanding of how the world works, achieve their hard-earned dreams, and still look their oddball neighbors in the eye again? Life is full of surprises, but this is crazy.

Thank you, Utah Shakespeare Festival!
